Brisbane’s Western Suburbs
Tree Removal in Brisbane’s Western Suburbs — Toowong, Indooroopilly, Kenmore and St Lucia
Western suburbs blocks are defined by what grows on them and how steeply they fall. Mature eucalypts, jacarandas and figs sit close to the house on ridgeline and creek-side land, and removal is a rigging job rather than a felling job. Stonebark Group assesses the site, chooses the method and clears the block.
Mature canopies on ridgeline and creek-side blocks
Brisbane’s western suburbs sit on ridgelines and fallaways. Toowong and Bardon drop away from the crest, Kenmore and Fig Tree Pocket hold deep sandy creeks, and Indooroopilly and Chelmer carry mature eucalypts and jacarandas right up against the house. On those blocks a tree cannot simply be dropped — it has to be taken apart and lowered.
We assess first: species, structure, decay, lean, root plate and what the tree is close to. Then we choose the method. Where a crane can get in, we use one — two mature eucalypts with significant structural defects came down over a dwelling at Chapel Hill using a 40-tonne crane, with the hazard assessment prepared by our arborist and removal, stump grinding and clean-up completed in a single day. Where access is too tight, the crew dismantles the tree in sections and lowers each piece.
What your quote covers
Every western suburbs quote includes the hazard assessment, the removal itself, stump grinding below grade, on-site chipping and mulching, and a full site clean-up — so nothing is left for you to sort out with another trade.
Invasive and weed species — Chinese elm, jacaranda, camphor laurel, cocos palm and privet — are removed as routinely as natives. And where a prune will fix the problem instead of a removal, we tell you rather than quote the bigger job.
Make safes and storm clean-ups
Western ridgelines take the worst of Brisbane storms. When a limb drops, a tree fails toward a dwelling or access is blocked, we prioritise make safes and emergency removals — usually within 24 hours and often the same day.
All climbing and removal work is carried out by AQF Level 3 qualified arborists as a minimum, with public liability and workers’ compensation certificates of currency available on request.
