Landscape Design Brisbane — Master Plans for Homes Across Greater Brisbane

Every great garden starts on paper. Stonebark Group's landscape design studio turns difficult Brisbane blocks — steep, narrow, hot, flood-prone — into properties that live beautifully in the Greater Brisbane climate.

Landscape design built around how you actually live

Our landscape design process begins on site. We walk your property with you, measure levels, note the sun path, assess soil and drainage, and talk honestly about how your household wants to use the space. Brisbane properties are rarely flat and almost never simple — a Paddington block falls away, a Bulimba block bakes in the western sun, and a Wynnum block in the Redlands fights salt and sand. A design that ignores those conditions fails within two summers.

From that site analysis we develop a concept plan that resolves the big moves first: where the level changes go, how you get from the house to the garden, where the outdoor living zone sits, and what gets screened. You see the plan as a scaled drawing with materials, so the decisions are clear long before anyone books a machine.

Planting design for the Greater Brisbane climate

Planting is where most Brisbane gardens quietly go wrong. Our planting plans are written for subtropical reality — humidity, storm rain, drought weeks and heavy clay. We select species that hold their form, layer structure with softness, and specify quantities and pot sizes so a nursery can price the plan exactly. Clients across the greater Brisbane area get a garden that reads as intentional in year one and better in year five.

Where a project includes significant existing trees, our arborists assess them as part of the design. Retaining a mature jacaranda or poinciana usually adds more value than anything you can build, provided the root zone is protected during construction.

Documentation your builder can actually price

The final stage is construction documentation: setout plans, levels, sections through retaining and stairs, drainage strategy, lighting and irrigation layouts, and a materials schedule. This is the difference between a mood board and a buildable design. It removes guesswork, keeps trades accountable, and stops the budget drifting mid-build.

Design can be delivered as a standalone service, or rolled straight into a Stonebark Group design-and-build package so the people who drew it are the people who deliver it. We design and build across the greater Brisbane area — Ipswich, Logan, Redlands and Moreton Bay.
