Arboriculture Brisbane — Hazardous Tree Removal, Feature Trees & Tree Care

Stonebark Group's arborists identify and remove invasive, structurally damaged and hazardous trees across the greater Brisbane area — then give the space a new purpose with feature tree installation and proper ongoing tree care.

Identifying and removing invasive and damaged trees

The first job on any site is working out which trees are an asset and which are a liability. We identify invasive species — Chinese elm, jacaranda, camphor laurel, cocos palm, privet and the rest — along with structurally damaged, storm-affected, decaying and root-compromised trees that sit too close to a dwelling, driveway, pool or boundary.

Where a tree poses a structural risk or is failing, we remove it properly: documented site assessment, exclusion zones, sectional dismantling and rigging, and a raked-clean site at the end. Stump grinding and mulching are quoted with every removal, so nothing is left half-finished.

Feature trees — giving the space a new purpose

Removing a problem tree is only half the outcome. We supply and install advanced feature trees that suit the site, the soil and the way you use the property — shade where you need it, screening where you want privacy, and a specimen tree that becomes the anchor of the garden.

Installation includes soil preparation, correct planting depth, staking, irrigation and an establishment plan, so the new tree survives its first two summers rather than quietly dying in them.

Pruning, stump grinding and mulching

Our climbing teams carry out crown thinning, deadwood removal, crown lifting, selective weight reduction, structural pruning and palm cleaning to Australian Standard AS 4373 — never topping, never over-lifting. Pre-storm-season weight reduction on large eucalypts and figs is the cheapest roof insurance a Brisbane homeowner can buy.

Stumps are ground 300–500mm below grade and backfilled ready for turf or planting. All timber is chipped on site, and mulch can be spread through your garden beds or taken away — your call.

Make safes, emergency removals and storm clean-ups

When a tree comes down or a limb fails over a house, we attend, make the site safe and clear the damage. Emergency removals, make safes and full storm clean-ups run across the greater Brisbane area, usually within 24 hours and often the same day.

Tree health, soil and arborist reports

Declining trees are usually a soil problem, not a leaf problem. We diagnose compaction, poor drainage, fill over root zones and construction damage, then prescribe remediation — vertical mulching, aeration, root-zone decompaction and targeted nutrition — rather than defaulting to removal.

Where a written assessment is needed, we prepare arborist reports, hazard assessments, tree health and structural reports and tree protection zone plans. Annual canopy inspections keep risk visible for clients on maintenance programs.
